I continue to try to tease out the difference between forgiveness and mercy. If forgiveness is what happens when a conscious man declines to take offence, is mercy what happens when a conscious man decides to act in a way that restore the relationship between himself and another, whether that be a partner, a child, a parent, sibling, or some other person, known or unknown, with whom he’s in relationship?
