Men are taught how to fix things. What they’re not taught is how to be a space for what happens. How to allow. How not to resist. “Male and female he created them, and called their name Adam, in the day they were created.”
Jesus said it was a disaster-in-the-making to put new wine into old wineskins. Wine in the New Testament is a metaphor for life. By co-mingling new and old, we produce a negative result. The new man is an old man relinquished, not an old man added to.
We are here, yes, but barely, suggestively, like a vapour, or bubbles popping.
