Princes and paupers

Men who find themselves in the biggest pickles are men who have difficulty giving. They are preoccupied with what they don’t have, dissatisfied, aggrieved, insufficient, chronically wanting. By contrast, givers live like princes.

Contentment, roughly speaking

Contentment is not for the delicate—not for romantics, sentimentalists, moralists, grudge-holders, self-improvers or the falsely smiling. It is to say in every circumstance of life, “This is what I want.”
