The more beliefs I have, the more often I will be required to decide something. The word decide comes from the Latin for ‘cut off.’ The sword is a manly bit of business.
Man has two servants—mind and body. Occasionally, they become a bit unruly, rebellious even. According to legend, Bodhidharma, frustrated at body’s unwillingness to stay awake during marathon mediations, cut off its eyelids.
Change what makes you unhappy or leave what makes you unhappy. Just don’t complain about what makes you unhappy. Complaint is a saboteur, a way of doing nothing while pretending to do something.
