Men come for counselling because they want something to change. The challenge they face is that for something to change, something needs to die. Change and death are dance partners. What ends here?

Frosh week

Sufis tell us to die before we die, to live like we’re already dead.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there were somewhere we could go to learn how to live? But there isn’t.

Losing weight

The Prophet taught, “Die before you die.” We are thereby enjoined to initiate a process of conscious subtraction. We can start with our opinions. They’re worthless anyway.
