Here ends “Men’s Work.” A writer is not a writer who is not read, so thank you for reading me. I extend a special word of gratitude to my female readership. Endings are numinous. That said, there is work being done to turn the core of what has been written over the last nine years into a book. When that happens, if that happens, I will let you know. The hallmark of the human is his desire for continuousness. And his performative grief when that balloon pops.
Everything begins and ends. We’re good with beginnings, not so good with endings.
We clear the mind of memories when we lose interest in what we are remembering. This happens naturally, without intention or effort, and hastens as regret and anticipation slink away without saying goodbye.
Bodies come and go but the life that we are does not die.
