Watching myself

Anger cannot be fixed. (Counsellors are not veterinarians.) Neither can it be managed. (What would that even look like, a man managing his anger?) We must confess our rage, withdraw from every interaction, then observe the emotion the way a cat observes a bird.  

Men of pause

At around the age of 45, a lot of men realize that what sustained them in life’s first part will be insufficient to the requirements of life’s even more arduous second part. And in realizing this, he also realizes he should have started 10 years earlier when he wasn’t carrying 20 extra pounds.
