A problem cannot be solved with the same consciousness that created the problem.
“Bind these words upon your heart. Tie them around your neck.”
The idea isn’t to change yourself but to accept yourself. Acceptance changes everything.
The problem with surrender is that it doesn’t make sense. To wit: Resist nothing. Make friends with what happens. Say “yes” to what is. I mean, c’mon.
Resist not evil. This means, everything that happens in life, happens for the best. It means that the distinction between good and evil is a false distinction. Taekwondo makes this teaching less abstract.
