Blue highways

Jesus talked about two roads. The road to destruction is easy and well-travelled. The road to life is hard with few travellers. Therefore, comfort is our enemy. There is no safety in numbers.

I am

What we think about defines and characterizes us.  Proverbially, from the Old Testament: “As you think, so you are.” And, famously, from Descartes: “I think, therefore I am.” Which begs the question: Who are we when we’re not thinking?

Thine own self

There are two ways I can go: I can please myself or I can please other people. The most difficult path is the first one. This is “the narrow way” Jesus spoke about.
