We tend, wrongly, to judge people by their actions. It’s an understandable mistake but still a mistake. It comes from the belief that we are what we do. That we are human doings.

70 percent of us like to be where the action is. 30 percent of us like to be where it isn’t. Is there a cultural bias against introversion? You bet.
The man who sits still stands out.
In the movies, men are either running after something or running away from something. This is also true off-screen—chasing, chased. Non-stop movement is a morbid state. The remedial action is non-action: STOP.
A man running is easily knocked over. This is not the case with a man who is standing still. Like any other expression of action-less activity, there is an art to standing still.
