The true man is non-violent. This means that his level of self-concern is low to non-existent. He functions normally but one vacancy sets him apart: He has no interest in profit and loss.
The true man wants nothing, expects nothing, fears nothing. He holds no opinions. He neither opposes nor competes.
John Bryer played the role of rough-and-tumble union boss for almost 50 years. He died recently, age 82, departing the body while watching television with his fourth wife. Feels like poetry, doesn’t it?
