No one says, “I am a body. This is me!” And yet this is precisely what most of us hold to be true. Herein lies our suffering. All our problems are body problems.

The door to the heart
The door to the heart opens on the realization that the ground of our being, the essence of who we are, is formless. All else is congealed energy. “Our bodies are like prisons,” said Einstein, “and I look forward to be free, but I don’t speculate on what will happen to me. I live here now, and my responsibility is in this world now.”
Never born, never died
As the dweller is not the dwelling, the soul is not the body. One is time-bound and limited; the other is timeless and free.
Men’s work
Contrary to cultural imperatives, our life task is not to get educated, make money, have kids and die discreetly. It is to find ourselves within ourselves. Non-stop doing is a morbid state. Gentlemen, turn off your engines.
Spiritual combustion
A spontaneous act is unexpected, unpredicted, unrehearsed, ungoverned, simple, direct, immediate, natural and now. The more we think, remember and plan, the less spontaneous we are. Jesus was making a point about spontaneity when he said we were to become again as little children.
