Many are willing and even eager to die for their country, but a country is not the truth. Where is the man who knows the truth and is willing to die for it?
We do not make it happen. We are to whom it happens. We are not actors. We are the the acted upon. The truth is what surprises us, what we did not foresee.
At the heart of A Course in Miracles, we find this: “Nothing real can be threatened.” There’s no wiggle room here. Is the Divine in me nervous, fidgety, afraid? Is the truth defensive?
The greatest error that a man can commit is to go against himself.
