Until the shadows lengthen, and evening comes, and the busy world is hushed… Yes, an experience like this has my inner Anglican undulating. But no, the organ didn’t fall from heaven and the now is non-liturgical and the churches are empty and an extended period of under-stimulation is the best thing that ever happened.
The aim of counselling is to stop the mind, not stimulate it. Can we think our way out of a problem that thought has created? No chance. Lao Tzu: “More words count less.”
