It is better to do the wrong thing whole-heartedly than the right thing half-heartedly. Earnestness is the key. “The fool who persists in his folly will become wise,” promised the mystic William Blake.
We cannot help anyone. The most we can do is create a condition whereby someone is enabled to help himself.
Right action relieves suffering; wrong action intensifies it.
The only devil is dependency.
I made a mistake the other day. I rushed an action. Then, mistake number two: I failed to arrest myself, to investigate the incident. Oh, what a hallelujah moment to finally get down to business, to see all of my sourness flood the exits, to watch ego convulse like a speared eel.
